
NSCDC Commandant General Ahmed Audi
Poised to frontally curtail the insecurity menace in the northern parts of the country particularly as it concerns school safety, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), through the National Safe School Response Coordination Centre (NSSRCC) held a one-day capacity-building program aimed at enhancing school safety across the country for State Coordinators and Desk Officers

According to the statement, Deputy Commandant General (DCG), Technical Services, Zakari Ningi represented NSCDC Commandant General Ahmed Audi at the event. The Commandant General (CG) through Ningi reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to ensuring safer learning environments for students, teachers, and host communities of schools.
Theme of the training is, Ensuring Safer Schools for All, and is aimed at strengthening capacity of NSSRCC personnel in achieving government’s Safe Schools Declaration targets.
He reiterated NSCDC’s dedication to school safety, referencing a 2021 vulnerability assessment that underscored the need for continued interventions. He therefore enjoined participants to leverage expert insights and to strengthen collaborations for more effective security measures in the targeted schools.
He also commended some of its key allies like, Ministries of Interior, Finance, and Education, as well as civil society organizations like Save the Children International, for their contributions towards advancing the NSSRCC’s mission on school safety. About 300 participants were trained.
