Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) PLC celebrates a year of exceptional growth and accomplishments under the leadership of its current and first female Managing Director/CEO, Mrs. Adenike Aboderin. Her tenure according to the company’s spokesperson, Vanessa Adetola Uansohia, has been marked by strategic excellence, a significant boost in operational performance, and impressive milestones.
In her one- year administration, the company has experienced remarkable financial turnaround, with a 74.8% increase in revenue for the period ending December 2024, when compared with previous years.
Under Mrs. Aboderin’s leadership, SAHCO is said to have secured key contracts and renewals one of such renewals is renewing its ground handling contract with British Airways for five years. Furthermore, SAHCO signed a 5-year ground handling agreement with South African Airways and strengthened partnerships with other major carriers, including Bristow Airlines, Value Jet, Ibom Air, Green Africa, and Air Cote D’Ivoire. Additionally, SAHCO secured Air Peace London route, Ibom Air’s regional operations to Accra, and Uganda Airlines’ extended services to Abuja.
SAHCO also secured Hajj handling contracts with Flynas and Umza Air as well as Neos Air thereby reviving the Nigerian-Italian route after nearly two decades.
In the area of health, safety and environment, the organization under Mrs. Aboderin has prioritized safety and environmental sustainability. In this regard, SAHCO renewed its IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO) and RA3 certifications as well as strengthened its corporate affiliation with the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON), the safety practice regulators in the country just as it made significant investments in eco-friendly aviation ground support equipment within the period also.
