The Suspect
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command on Monday, 17th February, 2025, paraded, one Wasiu Agbaraojo, a 56 year old man from Lagos State suspected to have forcefully had carnal knowledge of a 12 years old girl. This is crux of a press release signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, PRO, SC Oluwaseun Abolurin.
The Magbon Divisional NSCDC office in Ibeju Lekki,of the Lagos State Command got wind of the suspected rape act from grandmother of the victim who brought it to its office.
According to a minor who claim to have witnessed the act by peeping through the window of the said Agbaraojo’s room when she suspected that something was not right with her friend, told how her friend was lured by the suspect into his room when he told her to deliver a plate of rice he bought in his room. To complete his act, he also gave her extra five hundred Naira (N500).
The suspect is said to have warned his victim not to tell her parents or any other person of his act. However, the witness told grandmother of her friend who eventually reported the matter to the Magbon NSCDC Divisional office on February 11, 2025 hence the parade.
The NSCDC, Lagos State Command has since arrested the suspect while further investigations into the matter has revealed that the Agbaraojo is married to more than a wife with eight children from them.
The NSCDC, Lagos State Commandant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro, has ordered that the matter be thoroughly investigated and culprit brought to book saying that it will serve as a deterrent to all others
